Welcome to the terminal, Scavenger! This scavenger hunt was written to help you work through and make note of your discoveries across the Terminus. As an assignment, it is a light-hearted beginning to the command line. Do your best most average to complete each clue. (This assignment will be graded for participation and not for completion.)

Follow the clues, complete the tasks, and uncover the secrets hidden in this text-based adventure. Each challenge corresponds to one of the questions below. This assignment aims to introduce you to how to talk directly with your computer to accomplish tasks (quests!). Enjoy exploring!

    Clue: A warning awaits on the BackSign and NostalgiaForHome. What command do they caution against?


    Bonus: How can you avoid the challenge this command presents? Suggest a way to simplify navigating nested directories.


  6. A Brush with Romance

    Clue: Who is the “pretty cute” student you meet after a chance collision at a magical academy?


  7. An Elder’s Emoji

    Clue: Find the OldManuscript and reveal the hidden emoji within.

    Clue: Ascend the StairCase to its end. What lies in wait for you there?


  9. To Feed a Family

    Clue: Use your file management skills from the Artisian’s shop to double the Farmer’s food on the Farm. What was the command?

    Clue: Use your file management skills from the Marketplace to provide him with shelter. What was the command?


  11. CaveOfDisgustingTrolls Cage Mystery

    Clue: Deep in the CaveOfDisgustingTrolls lies a Cage. What’s imprisoned there?


    Bonus: Can you use the mv command to relocate it? Is something wrong?

    Clue: Unlock the path to Paradise with the sudo command. What is the exact syntax that led to Paradise?

    Clue: Upon reaching Paradise, what is the final (and a bit anti-climactic) message you uncover?


  15. Major Bugs in the Game

    Clue: Document the two major bugs that hindered gameplay. Can you identify and describe them?
